At the June 11, 2024, meeting of the CCUSD School Board, the board discussed an update to the 2023-2024 Local Control Accountability Plan, the associated Local Control Funding Formula, as well as the 2024-2025 Proposed Budget.
The presentation of the 2024-2025 budget saw CCUSD meeting the required 55% of spending in the classroom both this year and next school year.
The LCAP/LCFF and the Proposed Budget are scheduled for a board vote and formal approval at a meeting later in June. Once the Proposed Budget is adopted, it will be sent to the Los Angeles County Office of Education. It is anticipated it to pass without changes, as the district is on track to meet its financial obligations for the current and two subsequent fiscal years.
The LCAP is a tool that districts use to set goals, plan actions, and leverage resources to meet those goals to improve student outcomes.
The LCFF document for parents shows how much money is allotted specifically for the LCAP. CCUSD’s dollar amount for LCFF is calculated from the state’s TK to 12 base funding + supplemental grant formula. Supplemental grant dollars are allotted for all the increased or improved services for high needs students identified in the LCAP.
