Dear Editor,
I wanted to take a moment to reach out to the Culver City community and share my strong support for the upcoming facilities bond, Measure E. I have been a member of this community since 1982, I have been a dedicated educator in the Culver City Unified School District for 28 years, an alum of Culver City Schools, and a current resident of our wonderful community. Throughout the years, I have spent my time working with the youth of Culver City. In addition to teaching and my current position as principal of Linwood E. Howe, I started and coached the lacrosse program at CCHS for 23 years and have volunteered for various youth programs such as AYSO, Culver City Little League, Youth Volleyball, Youth Basketball, and when I saw a need I started and was the president for 10 years of the Culver City Lacrosse Club. Additionally, I am a Merit Badge Counselor for the Boy Scouts.
My wife is a teacher at El Rincon and all three of my children have graduated from Culver City High School. I firmly believe that NOW is the time to invest in our facilities. This is a crucial time for the success of OUR students and OUR staff. Recently our community has become divided and lost trust in our leaders. However, there is one thing that we should all believe in, and that is the future of our students, staff, and our schools. It’s time we start building bridges for THEIR future.
Let’s join together and not delay in supporting Measure E for the benefit of our students.
