In a statement from Paula Amezola, the president of the Culver City Unified School Board, it was announced the Superintendent Quoc Tran will be departing from his position as of August 15, 2023.
“The CCUSD Board of Education and CCUSD Superintendent Quoc Tran have agreed to a separation resulting in the Superintendent’s departure from the district, effective today, August 15, 2023. The Board of Education is grateful to Mr. Tran for his leadership over the past two years, including his oversight during the challenging times of COVID, online learning, and return to in-person instruction.
Current CCUSD Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Dr. Angela Baxter will step up to serve as Acting Superintendent until we are able to appoint an Interim. Please joining us in thanking her for supporting our district at this time. The Board will then be meeting interim candidates at a special meeting of the Board of Education this Thursday, August 17, 2023. We look forward to introducing our interim superintendent to employees and the school community by the end of the week.
Please be assured that the Board of Education takes seriously its responsibility to conduct a thorough search for our next long-term leader, including ample opportunities for school community participation and input. We will keep you apprised of the process and progress.
CCUSD is full of extraordinary individuals who we are confident will ensure a smooth opening to school and continued focus on the needs and well-being of our students. Thank you for your continued commitment to and support of CCUSD.”
