AAPI Month Gets a Celebration at Linwood E. Howe

Linwood E. Howe Elementary School celebrated Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a performance by Kayamanan Ng Lahi – a family-oriented folk arts group founded by two CCUSD parents. The group shared the richness and diversity of Philippine culture through dance, inspiring, educating and entertaining their Sea Dragon audience.

Celebrating its 32nd year, the groups strives to create meaningful impacts for its members and audiences everywhere, with hopes of deepening the connection between its Filipino heritage and its Filipino American identity in the diaspora. Through education and entertainment, Kayamanan Ng Lahi provides opportunities to learn and experience the richness and diversity of Philippine culture through dance, music, and song, while holding steadfast to its core values always, in all ways:

Katiwala (stewardship)
Kalinangan (culture)
Kapwa (shared-identity)
Galang (respect)
