Artists Ensemble’s New Play Incubator presents a new play-in-progress, OYSTERS, written by Carissa Atallah and directed by Keiana Richard on Saturday November 19, 2022 at 7 PM at the Culver City Julian Dixon Library.
OYSTERS is about an artist obsessed with finishing her latest creation, a sculpture made of oyster shells. The artist faces an undiagnosable illness and a complicated relationship with her adult daughter (the story contains depiction of physical and mental illness).
The Rogue Lab is an incubator for new work that stretches the boundary of what is currently being done onstage, including immersive experiences, interactive design, puppet plays and genre-bending pieces that fit within the Rogues’ Hyper-theater aesthetic. The 2022 Rogue Lab: Director Edition focuses on the artistic process of the director as they bring new impossible plays to life.
