As the new development in the Jefferson/Machado/Sepulveda triangle looks to begins construction, the U.S. Post Office has given their final dates for doing business at the address.
It was the Post Office’s closure, originally announced in November of 2017, that began the lengthy process that will create 11111 Jefferson, the mixed use development that will occupy the space next. The property owners – a group of 18 heirs to the original deed holders – declined to renew the lease for the USPS in 2017 and opted to offer the parcel for sale.
The close of the other contiguous businesses on the parcel has already occurred, with Coco’s Coffee Shop being closed by a health inspector in April of this year and choosing not to reopen. The green-backed hurricane fence that currently encloses the property facing towards Sepulveda will be up for the duration of the construction. The Post Office will relocate to Green Valley Circle.
The USPS will formally cease business on May 27, 2022, at noon. On May 31, the new temporary location will be open at 6695 Green Valley Circle, 90230.
