This Friday, February 4th, Common Peace and the Topanga Peace Alliance are hosting a special virtual program featuring members of Combatants for Peace a group made up of ex-combatants from the Israeli Defense Forces and former Palestinian fighters and prisoners all now devoted to peace and justice. This special live Zoom program and fundraiser for “Combatants for Peace” will feature Combatants for Peace activists: Michael Feigenbaum, a former Israeli Combat soldier and Ahmed Helou a former Palestinian prisoner who was shot in the back by IDF soldiers while attempting to rescue his friend.

Engage in the Conversation! Together we will meet these two Combatants for Peace activists and hear their stories! They will share their personal stories of transformation and the work they are doing to end the occupation and bring peace, equality, and freedom to their homeland. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the activists. We highly recommend watching the film, Disturbing the Peace (shown as our March 2017 First Friday Film), prior to the event. We will open the Zoom event at around 7:15. Before the program, we will have announcements regarding upcoming events and actions for peace and social justice. We will enable video so that we can optionally see each other if you choose to enable your camera. The main program will begin at 7:30 with a presentation by Michael Feigenbaum. At 8pm we will be joined by Ahmed Helou.
