Sahli-Wells & Four More Win 2020 Streetsblog Awards

Does the virus have to affect everything? The answer still seems to be yes. COVID-19 postponed Streetsblog L.A.’s planned Spring Awards fundraiser, but now that there is a Zoom celebration set for October, the winners have been announced. The Streetsies are handed out by Streetsblog to applaud the elected officials and community activists working to open up the streets of LA to bikers and walkers.

This years winners are –

  • L.A. County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl
  • City Counci member Meghan Sahli-Wells
  • CicLAvia Chief Strategist, L.A. City Commissioner Tafarai Bayne
  • Jim Pocrass, Esq.
  • Joshua Cohen, Esq.

Council member Sahli-Wells enthused,” It’s an absolute honor to be recognized by Streetsblog LA for my years of work creating safe and people friendly streets in Culver City.Though we won’t be able to meet in person, I look forward to celebrating with the Streetblog family, friends, and my amazing co-honorees online in October.”

There are three events planned for October including a Game Night, a live interview with Supervisor Kuehl, and an online Streetsie Awards night that will have some fun surprises. To get in on the award-event, go to la.streetsblog.org.
