
Black Talkies on Parade presents Chasing A Rainbow: The Life of Josephine Baker on May 23, 2019 at 2:30 pm. Directed by Christopher Ralling this documentary profiles the multitalented Josephine Baker, who dazzled theatergoers on both U.S. and European stages. Born in St. Louis, Baker became the first African-American to star in a film when she danced in Siren of the Tropics. Josephine Baker was also active off stage as a crusader in the Civil Rights Movement and a member of the NAACP.
The afternoon will be hosted by Executive Director Lloyd Clayton.
