MidDay Music with Basaraba to Offer Noontime Concert Series @ Grace Church

The Performing Arts Ministry at Grace Lutheran Church will present the first in a series of monthly MidDay Music Concerts at 12 noon on Thursday, December 13 in the Church Sanctuary under the direction of Mary Lou (aka Marya) Basaraba, who also serves as Choir Director at Temple Akiba, Resident Chorus Maestra of the Golden State Pops Orchestra and California Philharmonic and, is herself an accomplished operatic, symphonic and oratorio soloist, having performed with orchestras throughout Canada and the U.S. The inaugural MidDay Music Series, where each month professional musicians and singers will present 45-minute concerts at Grace Church and then talk with the attendees over coffee and cookies afterwards in the Fireside Room, will feature Emily Reppun, French Horn, and Soprano Leslie Soultanian.

Future concerts are set for January 10, February 7, March 14, April 11, May 9, and June 13 and will each feature local musical artists of all genres, classical, musical theater, jazz and cabaret. The public is welcome and there is no admission charge but free-will donations in any amount would be welcome, going to a charity of the performer’s choice. In the case of the upcoming December 13 concert, Emily Reppun is asking that any donations go to Lutheran World Relief.

Grace Lutheran Church is located at 4427 Overland Avenue, and the Church Office may be reached at (310) 559-1027.
