The Willows Community School – An Evening with The Moth Oct. 10

The Willows Community School proudly presents an evening with The Moth featuring Micaela Blei, Moth Director of Education and Community Programs, on Wednesday, October 10, 7:00 p.m.at The Willows Community School, 8509 Higuera Street, Culver City, 90232. Ms. Blei’s engaging keynote is entitled Storytelling for Empathy and Engagement-An Innovative Strategy for Child Development.

The Moth has presented thousands of stories to worldwide audiences and now brings its magic to The Willows. This talk will focus on the art and craft of storytelling, and how personal narrative performance and the crafting of stories can create a powerful context in which to explore together the emotional and critical work of learning and life. This talk is geared toward parents, educators, storytellers, and all who wish to help students, teachers, and families listen to, and lift, their many voices. Ms. Blei draws on her seven years of experience as a Moth educator, curriculum designer, and GrandSLAM champion storyteller to present Moth storytelling as an innovative strategy perfect for parents, students, and educators.
