Sister City Committee Extends Deadline for Young Artists & Authors Showcase

urlThe Culver City Sister City Committee is proud to sponsor the Annual Young Artists and Authors Showcase through our parent organization Sister City International. We are inviting students between 13 and 18 years of age from Culver City Middle and High School(s), to submit their entries for our local competition.Submissions deadline is MARCH 31, 2017

2017 Theme is “We’re Going Places”
Sister Cities International aims to promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation – one individual, one community at a time. Why are face-to-face interactions and travel still important despite access to instantaneous virtual connection via social media? How are sister cities and citizen diplomacy essential to creating a peaceful future? This year’s theme, “We’re Going Places,” showcases the importance of travel and exchange in achieving peace. Artists are encouraged to draw inspiration from their experiences with sister cities, travel, exchange, international friendships, and their goals to present their vision of where the future will lead.
