Meeting in a Minute – City Council Oct. 26, 2015

culver_city_hallHere are some highlights from the City Council meeting of October 26, 2015. At this meeting, the City Council;

 Presented a proclamation designating October as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
 Presented certificates of appreciation to participants in the 2015 Annual Ballona Creek Clean-Up.
 Approved a professional services agreement with Xerox Transport Solutions, Inc. for total support
services for software and hardware associated with the Culver CityBus Smart Bus system for a twoyear
term (ending June 30, 2017) with an optional third year (ending June 30, 2018) in an amount not- to-exceed $369,854.
 Approved the purchase of transit bus fareboxes from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan
Transportation Authority in an amount not-to-exceed $95,484.00.
 Approved a budget amendment increasing by $448,000 the appropriations in the Asset Replacement
Fund to cover the necessary increased expenses for two (2) City assets.
 Approved a professional services agreement with Land Images Landscape Architecture to provide
design and administrative services for the Senior Center Courtyard Renovation Project, PF007, in an
amount not-to-exceed $33,200.00.
 Approved a change order in the amount of $833,350 to the existing contract with Southwest Pipeline
for the construction of Sewer Main Lining Rehabilitation Project (Phase 4), PZ-906.
 Approved an amendment to the existing contract with Setpoint Systems Corporation to increase their
scope of work to include replacement of City Hall’s VAV valves in the amount of $48,864.
 Approved a professional services agreement with Moss Adams LLP to provide internal auditing
services for a five year term (ending on June 30, 2020) in an amount not-to-exceed $90,000 for Fiscal
Year 2015/2016, and subject to future year appropriations.
 Adopted a resolution (1) finding that the public health, safety or welfare requires the formation of
Underground Utility District No. 12, on La Cienega Boulevard, beginning approximately 700 feet north
of Kenneth Hahn Bridge and ending 650 feet south of Wrightcrest Drive; (2) declared the formation of
such District; and (3) ordered the removal and undergrounding installation of utility facilities in such
District.
 Adopted a resolution of intention to establish the Culver City Arts District Business Improvement
District and set the time and place for the public meeting as the Mike Balkman Council Chambers at
7:00 PM on November 9, 2015 and public hearing thereon for December 14, 2015 at 7:00 PM.
 Adopted a resolution authorizing the City Manager to submit a grant application to Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (Metro) 2015 Wayfinding Signage Grant Pilot Program in an amount up to $29,925 (Option 2 as set forth in the staff report).
 Discussed the City’s Historic Preservation Program and directed the City Manager to begin the process
to update Chapter 15.05 of the Culver City Municipal Code related to the Historic Preservation Program.
