Turning Point School has achieved International Certification status, as recently conferred by the Council of International Schools (CIS). This achievement validates the school community’s provision of international education and demonstrable outcomes reflecting students’ growth as global citizens. Turning Point joins St. Timothy’s School in Maryland and the International School of Indiana as the only three schools in the United States to achieve International Certification.
CIS further recognizes Turning Point School for its many contributions to the educational innovation process through its participation in the pilot of the International Certification program as one of a select group of schools from around the world, deliberately chosen to highlight their leadership in the advancement of international and intercultural learning for students. The achievement of International Certification is a school-wide accomplishment that has fostered collaboration and whole-school discussion of values related to global citizenship.
Jane Larsson, CIS Executive Director, added: “Through the International Certification process, school communities explore aspects of leadership and institutional approaches that enable the development of students as culturally literate, competent global citizens. Together with the Turning Point school community and others, the outcomes of a school’s work in this area are developed through a purposeful, collaborative network of diverse schools, recognized, supported, and challenged to go further. With its strong reputation in the provision of international education, Turning Point has been a valuable contributor to this process.” Learn more here: bit.ly/TP-IC
