Culver City Women’s Club to Host Fashion Show Fundraiser @ Casa Sanchez March 12 -T.S.Owen

287420_07Apr12_Miche_AprilAdmire the new floating fashions look, savor succulent Mexican appetizers and help the Culver-Palms YMCA and Sandy Segal Youth Health Center with just one ticket from the Culver City Woman’s Club on March 12.
“I design travel wear that you can mix with your own clothes or create entire outfits,” said Torrence designer Mary Ann Ayers. Nine models from the CCWC will display ponchos and jackets, silk tops, scarves, full length dresses, skirts and tanks, all to mix and match to your taste, she said. “My designs suit all sizes, including plus.”
The veteran, 20-year fashion designer creates flowing looks with light and colorful easy care fabrics that float over jeans, palazzo pants or a skirt. The friendly affordable folds accent distinctive prints and brilliant colors, complementing the wearer’s complexion and look. Purses are from Susan Luboviski of Miche Handbags.
Your $20 ticket buys the fashion show from Planet Chic fashion, a silent auction of goodies gathered by members and donated by businesses, the satisfaction of helping the Y and Health Center, door prizes and a free drink to sip as you watch the show and enjoy the food at the Casa Sanchez at 4500 S Centinela.
While the Thursday show will support the Y and youth center, the 95-year-old women’s club has a long list of charities they support with fundraising, dues and volunteerism. Several members help with the Meals on Wheels program, and volunteers wrapped gifts for DCFS social workers to give to Los Angeles foster children last Christmas. CCHS students receive scholarships and the Bob Hope USO at LAX, March of Dimes, Search Dog Foundation and Foster Children Resource Project are on their donation list.
The fun begins at 5.
Phone Carole Kanter (310.453.2314) for advance $20 tickets, or pay $25 at the door. Non-alcoholic drinks are free, half price happy hour prices apply for others.
