Suspected Rapist Arrested by CCPD

Police were searching for a teen who sexually assaulted a woman on a sidewalk near a Metro Rail train station. The assault occurred on Oct. 9 near National Boulevard and Eastham Drive in Culver City.

On October 17, 2013 at 7:00 pm, Culver City Detectives received information regarding the identity of the sexual assault suspect whose photograph was released to the public. Based upon the information, Detectives were able to locate and take into custody a male juvenile that resides in the City of Los Angeles. The suspect was later transported to Central Juvenile Hall.

Prior to the assault, the 31-year-old female survivor rode the Metro from downtown Los Angeles to the Jefferson/La Cienega station, where she exited.

“The suspect, who was also on the train, exited and followed the victim closely behind,” police said. “The suspect and victim walked into the boundaries of the city of Culver City, where the suspect committed the sexual assault while on the sidewalk.”
