Summer means SKITco. is back on the boards; homegrown talent cooking up just the kind of thought-provoking theater you love.
Recruitment, written by Emma Niles, follows a young man named Thomas on his search for true identity. Having just run away from his former life, Thomas is picked up while hitchhiking by Laura, a chatty young woman who invites him to join the community on which she lives. Once there, Thomas is introduced to “the family,” a group of diverse people living in harmony under a set of ideals created by their leader, a charismatic man known only as Father. As Thomas becomes more immersed in the family, Laura begins to pull away, leading to conflict in their relationship and within the community. When Father makes a rash decision that puts the lives of the family at risk, Thomas must re-examine himself and decide where his loyalty lies.
