Kentwood Players Auditions for “Rabbit Hole”

Kentwood Players announces auditions for David Lindsay-Abaire’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Rabbit Hole” on Saturday, November 12 from 11:00am to 4:00pm and Sunday, November 13 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Westchester Playhouse, located at 8301 Hindry Avenue in Westchester (LA 90045). If necessary, callbacks will be held on Monday, November 14 at 7:00pm. The production is directed by Sheridan Cole Crawford and produced by Linda Reinhardt by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service. Performances will be from January 13 to February 18, 2012 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm at the Westchester Playhouse.

“Rabbit Hole” tells the simple but wrenching story of Becca and Howie, a married couple in crisis after the sudden death of their child turns their world upside down and leaves them drifting perilously apart. As the grieving parents struggle to stay together, they also face challenges with Becca’s mother and younger sister, as well as the 17-year old boy responsible for their son’s accidental death. In this unsentimental and humor-filled drama, we see the five characters grow and change through realistic, vivid, and hopeful interactions, resulting in acceptance and understanding. The play is set in New York State in the present.

There will be cold readings from the script. Please bring your headshot, resume, and appointment calendar with you as the rehearsal schedule will be posted. Advance appointments are not necessary.
