On April 25, 2026, families from across the Culver City Unified School District came together at Veteran’s Memorial Park for the Third Annual AAPI Community Potluck Picnic.
The goal of the event was to bring the community together over delicious Asian food, and – through special guest, Teach AAPI – share resources like AAPI books and activities that can be shared across classrooms and the community during the upcoming AAPI Heritage Month. Children enjoyed games while families mixed, mingled and connected over shared Asian heritage.
The planning committee offers their thanks to the local vendors who donated to this event: Nong La Vietnamese Cafe, which is owned by a La Ballona family; and Copper Cow Coffee, which is owned by a Lin Howe family.
