Voter registration and education will be hosted at Village Well Books and Coffee every Saturday from 10:00 to 1:00 in the cafe from April 18th through the next California primary on June 2nd.
Come work with trained volunteers to register for the first time, re-register after a change (name, address, status) or pre-register if you are 16 or 17 years old and want to automatically begin receiving voting material and information when you turn 18.
Then buy a drink or a snack at the cafe and talk to the volunteers about open primaries, and what they mean to the upcoming June 2nd primary and November general election.
The volunteers will also be prepared to refer citizens who need help obtaining required documentation to vote for the first time to the nonprofit VoteRiders for guidance and document financial assistance.
Come to your favorite third place and strengthen democracy by registering to vote. Remember: democracy is a verb!
Also, anyone who wishes to become a table volunteer can be trained by contacting Karen at kurokakb@yahoo.com.
