WLAC Launches AI Engineering Course

West Los Angeles College has launched a made-for-the-moment course, CIS 107: AI Generative Prompt Engineering and Applications, designed to prepare students for one of today’s fastest-growing skill sets in the tech world.

“If you’re looking for a cutting-edge career in tech, but don’t have years of technical experience or an advanced degree, prompt engineering might be the perfect area for you to explore,” according to Tigran Sloyan, CEO of CodeSignal.

The new course at West introduces students to the art and science of crafting effective prompts for generative artificial intelligence tools – skills increasingly sought after in fields such as marketing, data science, education, software development, and more.

While similar courses are often offered through for-profit bootcamps and private training providers at a significantly higher cost, CIS 107 delivers the same in-demand skills at a fraction of the price. Additionally, as an accredited California community college, West offers this instruction with access to fee waivers and free-tuition programs, making high-quality AI education far more accessible.
