MCLM to Host Opera Tribute to Ella Lee

You are invited to join MCLM for a special concert hosted by Lloyd Clayton and the LA Metropolitan Opera paying tribute to the late soprano, Ms. Ella Lee. Cited in Kurt Pahlan’s book “Great Singers from the 17th Century to the Present Day,” Ms. Lee was recognized as a world-class singer from the United States who gained prominence in European opera. Mentored by Richard Wagner’s granddaughter, Ms. Lee performed at Bayreuth Festival and the Komische Opera in East Berlin. On January 16th, artists will perform a selection of classical pieces, Negro spirituals and excerpts from “Aida,” Ms. Lee’s signature role. Admission is $20. Students with ID and seniors: $15.
