Rodilitz, Leung, Orozco Top Finishers for Screenland 5K

The tenth Screenland 5k race took over Downtown Culver City on Sunday March 1, 2026, and the top three spots went to Scott Rodilitz, Kwan Leung and Oscar Orozco. There were costumes, competition and camaraderie all the way from the start point at National and Washington to the bottom of the course at Madison and Culver.

The popular spring race in Culver City that began as a part of the Centennial celebration has grown to a yearly event that draws runners and costume lovers from all over, and is widely enjoyed by the community.

With Mayor Freddy Puza running as Freddy Mercury in a yellow vinyl jacket and stylish white trousers, he set the tone in a pre-race interview with organizer Mike Cohen, in his own familiar Scarecrow costume.

Puza spoke about the benefits of exercise and fun, pointing out many of the local gyms, the YMCA and the Senior Center. “It’s so beneficial to exercise, and all those benefits increase when you are sharing the workout with friends and community members.”

Culver City’s Scott Rodilitz, 34, completed the race with a time of 16 minutes and ten seconds to be the first to cross the finish line. Johanna Williams, 36, also of Culver City, was the top finishing female with a time of  18 minutes and 35 seconds.
