Conor Proffitt, software architect, philosopher and activist, has died. His death was made official on October 17, 2025, ruled as a suicide. He was 37.
Conor Larkin Proffitt was a much loved and highly valued member of many Culver City communities, including Bike Culver City and Culver City Residents for Peace. His love of philosophy made him a frequent visitor to the Village Well Books & Coffee, and he often participated in biking events like CicLAvia and the Pride Ride.
A graduate of St. Louis University and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, he worked as a tutor and teacher, as well as software integration architect and and IT consultant.
Plans for a memorial celebration are still in process.
