The folks at Lodge Bread have been putting some good into the wildfire crisis – Arthur Sherman and Or Amsalam, posted recently about their efforts to help.
“Like everyone else, we have just wanted to help and direct our pain and sadness into something positive. We’ve been feeding our local fire stations for over a week but yesterday we had the privilege to feed the people on the front lines and delivered lunch to every checkpoint and fire crew along Sunset from the PCH to Mandeville Canyon. It was devastating to see the loss. It’s simply incomprehensible. But also so completely rewarding to see the best in people.”
The crisis has drawn firefighters from other states and other countries, all using their skills to help in this overwhelming disaster.
“We met fire crews from Northern Cali, Oregon and Arizona all doing backbreaking work to clear the hillsides and start the cleanup process helping to keep our city safe….We will continue to bake, to serve and to bring joy, one bite at a time.”
