2024 is the 100th Anniversary of The Culver Hotel and the 100th Anniversary of MGM Studios. Downtown Culver City will be celebrating a hundred years of Culver City cinematic history through a Special Third Wednesday Event on September 18, 2024: the Emerald City Block Party.
Expect to find character actors in full costume, blow-up rainbow arches at the entrances to the downtown, a 25-foot ruby slipper on Town Plaza, a Giant Emerald City backdrop, aDJ on the Town Plaza at the Culver Steps and Historical Explanations and Displays
We will be marking each participating business with a miniature yellow brick road.
Participating businesses will serve taster-size drinks (2-ounce size) to the crowds as they explore the streets of Downtown Culver City (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Visitors will create their own self-guided tour using the free Emerald City “Passport” provided by the Downtown Business Association.
This event is free to the public. “Passports” are available free at any participating business.
