McNeill of Baldwin Hills Conservancy to be Featured at “From the Ground Up”

On September 17 ,2024, California will be holding their California Land Recycling Conference,“From the Ground Up.” Featured speaker will be David McNeill, the Executive Director of the Baldwin Hills Conservancy will discuss connecting communities and programs. 

“This year we will focus on driving redevelopment programs for the communities, as well as helping practitioners gain information on available funding for these types of transformative programs.”

Other speakers include Rachel Bennet, Director of  Health Equity, Sean Woods, Chief of Planning for LA County Parks and Recreation, and Belen Bernal, Executive Director of Nature for All. 

Los Angeles County is at the forefront of a movement for park equity and environmental justice. Amidst the bustling landscape of the nation’s most populous county, a new vision of regeneration is emerging. This vision addresses long-standing inequities in park and open space funding, and builds people power in lower-income communities of color burdened by environmental challenges.
