Ramos-Horta won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1996 and returned to his home country in 1999 after 20 years of exile during the Indonesian military occupation.
He served as Timor-Leste’s second president from 2007-2012. This Antioch Works for Democracy event is in partnership with and celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Environmental Studies at Antioch University, as part of its Fall 2024 Environmental Justice and Democracy Colloquium Series.
