Sameen Ahmadnia Announces for School Board Contest

Sameen Ahmadnia has announced her candidacy for the school board race, offering both who she is and why she’s opted to run for office.

“I’m an immigrant advocate and a proud parent of two young kids. I’m running for Culver City Unified School Board to put our students first and give them the resources they need, especially as we recover from the pandemic. As an immigration attorney, I work every day to make things fair and just. I’m committed to improving access, wellness, and achievement for all our students.”

Her vision for the district includes a focus on full inclusion for students with disabilities, ensuring every student has the support they need to succeed, equitable modernization of facilities with Measure E funding, creating a comprehensive TK-12 mental health curriculum, and enhancing mental health services.

Her announcement also highlights the need to lead operations in alignment with the Green New Deal’s principles to ensure the health and safety of the community. Support for multilingual students, helping them achieve reclassification and succeed academically. Developing outdoor learning spaces that offer environments that support academic, social, and emotional growth

“My experiences with our multilingual learner community at La Ballona highlighted the systemic barriers that exist across our district and motivated me to advocate on a broader scale. I want to improve outcomes with the community, to make sure every student, teacher, and staff member in CCUSD has what they need to thrive.”
