On August 1, 2024, a fire broke out in the bedding department of the Target store at 10820 Jefferson Boulevard, and the store has posted signs that it will be “closed indefinitely.”
According to Amber Solomon at the Culver City Fire Department, Engine 43 from Fire Station Three was the initial unit dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:30 pm. “All units then responded but there was no active fire on the property when they arrived.” The report from CCFD is still being finalized.
Arson is suspected, but the investigation is still in beginning stages, and no other details are available at this time.
The Target corporation is currently “assessing the damage” and will be posting on their website when the store will be re-opened once they have a date.
The parking lot is closed off with some stanchions and yellow cation tape, and notice is posted of the closure.
