CC Democratic Club to Hold City Council Candidate Debate

The Culver City Democratic Club, the city’s oldest and most trusted political organization, will hold its forum for Culver City City Council candidates Sunday, June 2, from 7 to 8:30 PM.

The event will be livestreamed from the annex of Village Well Books & Coffee, with Judith Martin Straw, editor and publisher of the Culver City Crossroads, moderating. Community members can watch live on the Democratic Club’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CulverCityDems) and YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/@CulverCityDemocraticClub), and the video will be permanently available on those sites.

Three City Council members will be chosen this November. Candidates Nancy Barba, Bryan “Bubba” Fish, Denice Renteria, Jeannine Wisnosky-Stehlin, and the incumbents: Mayor Yasmine-Imani McMorrin and Council Member Albert Vera Jr, have been invited to the forum. All other Democrats running are also welcome; please email [email protected].

The Democratic Club’s candidate forums are intended both to help its members make their endorsements and to help the community learn more about the candidates.

Club members will vote on City Council endorsements the week after the forum. Endorsements are chosen by a direct vote of the membership and require at least a 60% majority.
