Memorial for CCUSD Football Coach Aki Wilson

On May 1, CCUSD lost a member of the Panther and Centaur Family when Coach Aki Wilson, left, passed away from a heart attack. He was an assistant football coach for CCHS and the head football coach for CCMS. A former Centaur, he was an outstanding athlete at CCHS and finished his career as the school’s second all-time rushing leader. He graduated in 1995 and is a member of the Culver City High School Hall of Fame. A memorial service for Wilson, originally planned to be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, is now planned for a future date. Funeral Services are pending.

“Unfortunately, Aki’s family is not completely prepared to bury him the way he deserves,” said Aki’s longtime friend Jennifer Lopez. “Now, I want to be clear Aki was a hard worker, he was willing to sacrifice for anyone but like many others his end of life affairs were not completely in order because he believed he had way more life to live, more lessons to teach the people he loved and more fight inside to give. With that said I hope you find it in your hearts to give as you desire to help support the Wilson family during this difficult time, all is greatly appreciated!”

Lopez has established a GoFundMe campaign to help the family with expenses.
