Chef Dara Yu, 22, a Culver City High School graduate who recently earned recognition as the youngest winner of the TV show MasterChef, will be a co-chair of A Taste of Culver City, a fundraising event for the Culver City Education Foundation (CCEF). The event will be held on the lot of Amazon Studios in downtown Culver City on May 7, 2023, from 1-5pm with tickets priced at $65-95.
Dara Yu and Shirley Chung, a renowned local chef and owner of Ms. Chi Café, will provide live cooking demonstrations on stage at the event. “I have so much love for my hometown, so it is a real joy to host this event. I am looking forward to sharing my passion for cooking with the next generation of student chefs from CCUSD,” Chef Yu said.
A Taste of Culver City will feature food & beverage tastings from more than a dozen local restaurants, entertainment, student performances, and an online auction. Funds raised from A Taste of Culver City provide critical resources needed to sustain and grow exceptional learning opportunities for over 7,000 students at every CCUSD school.
