This Saturday, October 2, 2021, the annual Culver City Car Show hits the starting blocks for the 18th consecutive year. The Car Show kicks off at 10:00 a.m. and runs until 6:00 p.m., at West Los Angeles College. Admission is free to the public.
Hundreds classic cars from all over Southern California will be at Saturday’s show. This iconic local charity event also will feature a beer garden, a gourmet food truck court, car themed vendors, and live music from show stage throughout the day. This will be the third venue for the Car Show, which originated in Downtown Culver City, moved over to Vets Park, and now has a new location at West Los Angeles College.
The 2021 Car Show organized by the Exchange Club of Culver City is co-sponsored by the City of Culver City, the Petersen Automotive Museum, and host of other local prominent sponsors. As it has every year, the Petersen Museum along with Sony Pictures will roll out rare and prized movie cars for public viewing.
Funds raised by this charity event go to support youth organizations such as the Child Abuse Prevent Center, the Culver Youth Health Center, the Culver-Palms YMCA and Upward Bound (supportive housing for homeless families with children). Proceeds also go towards college scholarships for deserving local students.
Culver City is the ideal location to hold this popular event because of its long history of auto racing and hotrodding. During the 1920’s, Culver City was the site of two race tracks where thousands would gather on any given Sunday to see legendary daredevils like Barney Oldfield risk life and limb. In the 50’s & 60’s hotrodders would drag race down Culver and Washington Boulevards for pink slips.
West Los Angeles College is located at 9000 Overland Avenue, Culver City, CA 90230-3733, near the corner of Jefferson Blvd and Overland Ave. Ample parking will be provided at the site of the show – follow the signs. The show is handicapped accessible with available designated parking.
