The City of Culver City is pleased to announce the hiring of H. Yanni Demitri as Public Works Director. Demitri most recently served as City Engineer of West Hollywood. Before that, Demitri served as Public Works Director in Grand Terrace, CA, and spent significant time as a Civil Engineer with the City of Santa Monica and as Traffic Engineer with the City of Napa.
Demitri is both a licensed Civil Engineer and a licensed Traffic Engineer from the State of California. He possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Cal State Los Angeles and a Master Degree in Traffic and Construction Engineering from San Jose State University.
“My family and I absolutely love living in Culver City, so I am incredibly enthusiastic about working closely with city staff and the community on the important issues facing the City,” said Demitri.
Demitri is a Culver City resident. He lives with his wife, a nurse practitioner, and children in the Fox Hills neighborhood. In his free time, Demitri enjoys spending time with family at the beach, theme parks, visiting grandparents, or traveling. You may also find him and his wife walking to the Westfield Culver City mall, which they do several times a week.
Demitri will begin on October 18 and is replacing outgoing Public Works Director Charles Herbertson, who is retiring after 17 years with the City.
