Suspect Sought in Sidewalk Attack

Culver City police are reaching our to the public for help to find a suspect who punched and kicked a woman during an attempted mugging.

At approximately 4:30 pm on Sunday February 7, 2021, a woman walking near Bristol Parkway and Green Valley Circle told police she noticed the suspect walking directly toward her on the sidewalk.

According to the statement from the CCPD, ” [She] tried to politely move to the side to allow him to pass; however, he mirrored her actions,” “As the suspect got closer to the victim, “he yelled at her, demanding her cell phone.”

The man then knocked her to the ground “and began to violently punch and kick her in the head and body. While the victim was being assaulted, several bystanders in the area began to yell and draw attention to the suspect’s actions. After noticing the attention, the suspect ran to and a entered a beige four-door sedan.”

The sedan, along with a black SUV, then left “in tandem” going westbound on Green valley Circle, police said. The woman was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The suspect was described as Black, about 20 years old, 6 feet tall, with a thin build and his hair braided in corn rows, police said.
