New Offices for Apple Approach Completion @ 8777 Washington

After almost two years of construction, more glass and curves will be housing the Apple workforce. What was once the location of kitchen and food specialty outlet Surfas had been under construction since February of 2018, sending up four stories of office space under lease to Apple.

Located at the corner of Washington and National Boulevards, directly across from the Expo Station, the offices are four-stories with 125,000 square feet of offices, sitting above 4,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and underground parking.

Previous plans for the site considered an office and residential mixed use, and a different tenant; HBO was considering moving its West Coast headquarters to the location.  Apple, which has leased the building to serve as the headquarters of its content division to create  shows for Apple TV Plus.

Designed by Gensler, 8777 Washington is built with a concrete frame which curves, virtually the same glass-framed curve that occupies the corner of Culver Boulevard and Ince with the Culver Steps office and retail complex,.

Apple is already seeking out more space for offices in the area. According to UrbanizeLA, it paid $162 million to purchase five adjoining properties fronting National and Venice Boulevards, potentially paving the way for their redevelopment with additional office space.
