The Culver City High School Academy of Visual and Performing Arts is moving the Winter Concert The video concert will premiere @ https://avpa.org/wintermusicconcert/ Monday, December 14, at 7pm
Our Winter Music Concert features the CCHS Concert Band and Orchestra, along with the AVPA Orchestra, Chamber Singers, and Jazz Combos. The Concert Band performance will be a comedic setting of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. We have will many special guests appearing to read excerpts of the famous poem! There will also be performances by various small ensembles featuring holiday classics.
Repertoire includes:
Concert Band – ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, with guest narrators
AVPA Orchestra – Festival of Lights and You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch
CCHS Orchestra – A Little Winter Night Music
Chamber Singers – ‘Tis the Season, Light the Candle, and Here Comes Santa Claus
Jazz Combos: Sharp 9, Misty, Watermelon Man, My Favorite Things, Castaways
Because of our current mode of distance learning, each student practices their own individual parts, video records themselves playing their part, and then each performance is edited together to create virtual ensemble performance.
