Summer Concert Series @ City Hall Courtyard to Start July 11

One of Culver City’s favorite summer traditions, the Concert Series at City Hall, will be kicking off on July 11 with American bluegrass. Dust off the picnic basket and mark your calendar; there will be rock, jazz, Motown and more for six Thursdays in row.

Thursday, July 11 @ 7 pm: The sounds of Americana/Bluegrass from Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand
Thursday, July 18 @ 7 pm: Argentinian Rock with superb vocals and guitar from Los Pinguos plus Worldbeat/Funk/Rock/Mambo from the Bonedaddys
Thursday, July 25 @ 7 pm: Afro/Cuban that can literally burn up the dance floor from Ricardo Lemvo and Makina Loca
Thursday, August 1 @ 7 pm: Jazz/Blues/Motown with a tribute to Aretha Franklin from the George Kahn Jazz & Blues Revue plus the sounds of Surf Music/the Beach Boys with a tribute to Dick Dale from Big Wave
Thursday, August 8 @ 7 pm: An Evening of the Music of John Denver featuring Jim Curry
Thursday, August 15 @ 7 pm: Classic Rock standards (the best covers done of the band Venice) and originals from The Pine Mountain Logs

  1. Six concerts and not 1 FULL concert devoted to jazz/Motown/r&b/blues or even the 4 together for one night? Ask the organizers at fisherman’s village (marina del rey) for referrals. This doesn’t look good!
