I am running for Senate to expand the fight for our families, our communities, and the needs of all residents of our state. I’ve dedicated my career to improving the lives of the neediest and most vulnerable – and I’ll make the issues most important to Californians my priorities in the Senate, such as healthcare, education, jobs, environmental justice, and the safety of our neighborhoods.
A special election for this race is scheduled for September 17th and I need your help to win.
I have been honored to chair the Assembly’s Budget Subcommittee on Health and Human Services. My colleagues and I worked hard to deliver the state’s first surplus budget in nearly a decade, while restoring funding for education, health care, and other vital services. Expanding Medi-Cal to provide coverage to millions throughout the state, funding scholarships for the middle class, and ensuring Covered California would be responsive to the needs of Californians are policy efforts I was proud to champion and support.
I ran on a platform to preserve safety net services, and to protect our communities and keep them safe and my legislative record shows that I have not wavered from those commitments to you.
I am eager to roll up my sleeves and work for the constituents of the 26th Senate District. I hope you will join me on this campaign. I hope to hear from you, to continue to learn from you, and to fight alongside you, on behalf of the progressive values that make this district so great.
