Crime Blotter for December 13th through the 19th.
Residential Burglary:
On December 13, 2011 at 7:55 pm, officers responded to the 4100 block of Albright Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The officers arrived and met with the victim who told them the following; he said his roommate left the residence at 8:45 am and secured the location. He arrived at 7:00 pm and discovered his residence had been ransacked and his property missing. It appears the suspect(s) entered through a bedroom window.
Car Burglary:
On December 13, 2011 at 8:15 am, a victim called the police department to report that his 2006 Ford truck had been burglarized. The victim said he parked and locked his truck in the 10700 block of Jefferson Boulevard at 12:00 am. When he returned at 8:00 am he discovered the rear window had been broken out and his property missing.
Robbery:
On December 14, 2011 at 5:45 pm, officers responded to the 9400 block of Culver Boulevard regarding a robbery investigation. The officers arrived and met with the reporting party who told them the following; she was at her work station when the suspect approached her handed her a note which demanded money from her. Fearing for her safety she gave the suspect the money. The suspect then fled the location. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic, early to late twenties, 5’6, heavy set, and wearing a white sweatshirt.
Identity Theft:
On December 16, 2011 at 5:00 pm, a victim came to the police department to report that she was a victim of identity theft. The victim said an unknown suspect had used her social security number to fraudulently file their taxes. The discovered this crime when she applied for a passport and was denied.
Robbery:
On December 18, 2011 at 10:25 pm, officers responded to the 5400 block of Sepulveda Boulevard regarding a robbery investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; the victim said he was working behind the counter when the suspect entered the location. The suspect approached him and pointed a handgun at him and demanded money from his cash drawer. Fearing for his safety he gave the suspect the money. The suspect then fled the location. The suspect was described as a male Black, medium build, 30 years of age, 5’8, and wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
