Ballona Creek Bike Path Reopens – Tree Removed, Railing Repaired

An announcement from Culver City’s Public Works Department noted that The Ballona Creek Bike Path was reopened on Friday, September 11, 2026.

After the rain, a very large tree growing next to the path between the ramps for Duquesne and Higuera had fallen, blocking the roadway and taking our a significant stretch of railing. Public Works sent a crew the same morning, and the work was completed in the expected time frame.

The previous weeks also saw a significant length of the path being ‘landscaped,’ with overgrown ivy and box hedges trimmed back so that blind corners had increased visibility, and many weeds that had been growing up in the creek bed were removed.

Adding to the safety of cyclists, times that had been illegally ‘dumped’ were hauled away by Sanitation.
