Despite the rain, the turnout was large for the Jan. 3, 2026, protest rally at City Hall in Culver City. Several hundred folks came out with signs, and the plaza on Culver Blvd. was filled with horns honking a people chanting. Indivisible, the organization behind the now year-long schedule of weekly rallies, had thought that the weather might depress participation.
The most recent extralegal actions by the Republican administration in Washington, D.C., had many in the crowd more energized than ever. Cars driving past City Hall honked in agreement with the slogans, and skies cleared for a short bit.
Once the rally ended at 12:30 pm, the crowd dispersed fairly quickly and the downpour began in earnest.
