Ribbon Cutting Planned for Robertson Bus/Bike Lane

On Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025 Culver City Mayor Dan O’ Brien will lead a news conference at 3888 Hoke Ave Culver City, CA 90232, to  announce the opening of the Robertson Bus/Bike Lanes Project, as well as Culver City’s support for Sepulveda Transit Corridor Alternatives 4 & 5–heavy rail, subway concepts that would get riders from the Westside to the Valley in as little as 20 minutes.

The Robertson Bus/Bike Lanes Project is funded by the Metro Active Transportation Program to improve bicycle and pedestrian access around the Culver City E Line station.

Project elements include, Protected bike lanes along Robertson Blvd between Washington Blvd and Venice Blvd, five dedicated bus bays that serve layover buses for Culver City Bus, Big Blue Bus, and Metro, a widened sidewalk on the east side of Robertson Blvd., and the removal of the right turn slip lane at the northeast corner of Robertson Blvd and Washington Blvd to reduce pedestrian crossing and exposure to vehicles. The project wil also support the installation of two stormwater treatment catch basins, installation of and the trees

This year, the Culver City City Council shared its support of Alternatives 4 & 5, the inclusion of a direct, on-campus station at UCLA, and a seamless connection to the D Line at the Westwood/UCLA Station for the Sepulveda Transit Corridor Project. Both are heavy rail, subway concepts that would get riders from the Westside to the Valley in as little as 20 minutes.

If approved by LA Metro next year, the project would ease traffic congestion on the 405 Freeway. Alternatives 4 & 5 were designed by the Sepulveda Transit Corridor Partners (STCP)- a consortium made up of some of the finest construction, engineering and finance firms in the world. Culver City’s City Council is the first to share support of Alternatives 4 & 5.
