El Rincon Puts Families ‘Front and Center’ with Theater Games Tonight

The curtain will go up tonight, January16, 2020, on Front and Center Theatre Collaborative’s first Family Fun Night, kicking off the 10-year celebration of theatre arts education for CCUSD students. El Rincon Elementary is hosting 24th Street Theatre for a night of theatrical games and activities. The event is free and open to CCUSD families from all schools. Complimentary dinner will be available from 6-7 pm, followed by the program from 7-8 pm.

CCUSD Front and Center Theatre Collaborative is a unique partnership of six theatre companies that provide in-school and after-school workshops, assemblies and field trips to Culver City’s TK-12th grade students. The partners are 24th Street Theatre, The Actors’ Gang, Center Theatre Group, Story Pirates, We Tell Stories and Young Storytellers. This partnership, started 10 years ago with seed funding from Sony Pictures Entertainment, now creates an unparalleled collective impact, giving CCUSD the highest concentration of theatre arts programming per student of any Los Angeles County school district.

The Culver City Education Foundation (CCEF) has been financially supporting the Collaborative with moneys donated from multiple funders. In addition to Sony Pictures Entertainment, The Carol and James Collins Foundation, Fineshriber Family Foundation, Christina Warfield, and CCUSD PTAs and Booster Clubs have supported the Collaborative over the years.

Join CCEF and 24th Street Theatre tonight at El Rincon (11177 Overland Ave, Culver City, CA 90230, at the corner of Overland and Sawtelle.) Remember, it’s open to ALL CCUSD families. And join the #CulverCreates community on Facebook and Instagram, and post your own photos of CCUSD artistic endeavors, tagging #culvercreates.
