CCPD Seeking Your Help with Hit and Run

On Sunday morning, Nov. 3, 2019, at approximately 1:45 AM, Culver City Police Officers and Culver City Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the area of Washington Place, west of Frances Ave, on a call of an injury hit and run traffic collision, involving a vehicle versus a pedestrian. Upon their arrival, the responding police officers located the male victim, whose identity will remain confidential, lying on the street in the eastbound lanes of Washington Place, west of Frances Avenue. Culver City Fire Department paramedics subsequently declared the victim deceased at the scene. Our officers learned that the victim had been struck by a vehicle while crossing the street and that the suspect had fled the location following the collision.

No witnesses to the collision were located during the on-scene investigation. The suspect never returned to the scene following the collision and was not identified.

Area cameras captured images and video of the suspect vehicle (see attached picture). The suspect vehicle is believed to be a black, newer model Toyota Corolla. During the collision, the vehicle’s front windshield was shattered, and there was damage caused to the hood and the dashboard.
