Explore the Ballona Wetlands ecosystem and learn about what threatens its existence. Come and get together with Sierra Club members to learn more about our renewed struggle to protect the Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve. Joe Young, our trained Sierra Club hike leader, will take us from the Del Rey Lagoon, along the western tip of Ballona Wetlands Area A, bordering Ballona Wetlands Area C to Fisherman’s Village. Hiking level is easy; most of the walk will be on concrete, dirt, or gravel paths and will last for approximately 2 hours.
Saturday, August 24 9-11A.M., meet at the Del Rey Lagoon parking lot on the east side of the Lagoon off Esplanade in Playa del Rey. Bring water and a snack. Hiking shoes or tennis shoes with a good tread are strongly encouraged for this hike.
