CC Speaker Series to Begin with ‘Parking and the City’ Author Shoup

What can be gained by reforming parking policies? Dr. Donald Shoup, Distinguished Research Professor at UCLA, will kick off Culver City’s Speaker Series with a discussion on dynamic parking pricing and its potential benefits to our community. Thursday, April 25, 2019, 6:30-8:00 PM at Turning Point School.

The City of Culver City is hosting a Speaker Series based on 2018’s successful GPU Prelude Series. This series is intended to inform, educate, and create a common dialogue around issues of importance to everyone who lives, works, plays and/or learns in Culver City. The entire community is invited to join in the discussion!

The first event in this series features Dr. Donald Shoup, Distinguished Research Professor in the Department of Urban Planning at UCLA. The author of The High Cost of Free Parking and Parking and the City, Dr. Shoup’s decades of research and writing have exposed the connection between parking policy and a multitude of urban problems – from congestion and pollution to affordability and sprawl. Please join us on April 25th for a discussion led by Dr. Shoup on dynamic parking pricing and its potential benefits to the community.

Complimentary on-site child care can be arranged in advance.
