‘Romancing Peace’ to Encore March 3

The encore of ‘Romancing Peace’ is in Culver City on March 3rd at 4 pm at Fanatic Salon Theater with a cast of 10. The event also includes a pre-play reception, a Contest for best Hippie outfit ($50 prize)  and a live music performances.

In addition, music artists Daniel and Big Son and other surprise guests from the play have been invited to be part of the Venice Art Crawl on Friday March 1. Their event is ‘ Singer-songwriters from the play ‘Romancing Peace’ at Toms Coffee House on Abbott Kinney from 6pm to 10pm.

The play’s author Dan Wunsch is an accomplished singer songwriter from Nashville with his original songs recorded by several country singers including Grammy, ACM and CMA award winner David Frizzell. Under the stage name Daniel he performs several original compositions.

Another singer songwriter performing is Big Son aka Gary Gibson who has several albums to his credit and has toured successfully up and down the southern California coast.

The main plot of the comedic play presented in a pod-cast style is a romance between Daniel, a pro-military singer songwriter and Sara, a peace activist.

Author Dan Wunsch in writing the play was inspired by Dylan, Eisenhower and Orson Wells.

Another major influence is his composition “Let Us Play In Peace In Our World,” which was awarded the 2015 Children’s Song of the Year by Los Angeles Virtuosi, a non-profit founded by world class violinist, Olivia Tsui of LA Opera.

ROMANCING PEACE IS Wunsch’s first theatrical play, but he is no stranger to success as a writer over multiple platforms.

As a journalist with Nashville Music Guide, he has interviewed country stars, Garth Brooks, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town to mention a few and covered such major music events as CRS week, CMA Awards, and CMA’s Fan Fair.

After catching the screenwriting bug while still in Music City, he relocated to LA in 2013 with four major film scripts and signed with entertainment attorney Eric Weissmann, a former VP of Warner Brothers.

In LA, he has worked on the reality show LAST RESORT and the youtube documentary TRADING POVERTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL LA.

Wunsch is the head organizer of West Los Angeles Independent Film Productions, a member of the American Society of Composers and Publishers (ASCAP) and a past member of the Country Music Association.
