Dear Editor,
I’m a proud progressive and its because I believe that public institutions are vital to everyone that I ask you to vote no on Measure K. I generally support tax increases but I do feel that accountability and honesty are important when spending the public’s money. CCUSD has been spending money irresponsibly and recklessly for the last four years. The district is rife with self-dealing to insiders and misplaced priorities. That’s why I find Measure K so objectionable—it’s a cynical bail out to keep the status quo of out of control spending. Let’s restore the public trust and demand good governance by the school board and CCUSD leadership.
